Children’s Ministry Director (Part-time)

Main Purpose:

The “big picture goal” for this staff position is to advance and enhance the ways the Lord uses Cornerstone for spiritual growth in the lives of children – by partnering with parents to help children become fully alive in Christ – by connecting them to God as they learn God’s Word and as they learn what it means to be a member of God’s family.   

Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Develop an invested team of volunteers to help disciple children to lead them into a relationship with Jesus.
  • Give oversight and provide leadership to the Nursery & Children’s ministries (praying, planning, organizing, recruiting staff, equipping, coaching, coordinating activities).
  • Develop a comprehensive and systematic discipleship path (for children ages 3 yrs old through 5th grade) through Toddler Care, Cornerstone Kids, and other avenues.  
  • Meet with the Lead Pastor weekly for prayer, support, planning and coordination of ministry efforts.
  • Coordinate efforts with other staff and ministry leaders.
  • Participate in worship services where needed.
  • Participate in special projects where needed.
This position will report and be directly accountable to the Lead Pastor.

  • Demonstrated spiritual maturity and godly character. A testimony among former churches of unimpeachable integrity in both behavior and speech
  • A consistent and meaningful devotional life.
  • A love for and complete trust of the Bible
  • A heart for the souls of people and a burden to reach and minister to them.
  • An entrepreneurial personality and a “go-getter” approach to work.
  • Exhibits the attributes of love and the fruit of the spirit.
  • Possesses a cooperative, teachable, conscientious, flexible, growing, godly, and humble spirit.
  • Good people skills, able to relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Friendly, mature, self-motivated, optimistic, enthusiastic.
  • Good administrative and follow-through skills.
Additional Qualifications :
  • Experience in children’s ministry 
  • Possess a good standing with former churches and a good testimony with former supervisors.
  • Track record of equipping people for ministry
  • Meets the Biblical qualifications for the role of a leader in God’s family
  • Wholehearted agreement with doctrinal statement of the EFCA and with Cornerstone Church (CC).
  • Wholehearted agreement with the mission, vision, structure, and strategy of CC.
  • A proficient knowledge of Bible and ability to teach it (in small, medium, and large group contexts).
  • Possesses a solid understanding of today’s culture and societal environment – accompanied by an effective corresponding ministry philosophy.
